When deciding which feature to play up, I always go with my eyes. There are a few ways to draw attention to your eyes – two of my favorite looks for evening are a brown smokey eye, or a black, cat-eye look with lots of black kohl liner. For daytime, I like to use a different approach, one that will open up and brighten your eyes for a gorgeous, wide-awake effect. Here’s how I do it:
First, take a neutral palette and a long-wearing brown eyeliner. Using the Maybelline Eyestudio palette in Nude Romance, take the lightest shade and wash it all over your lids. Next, Line your upper lash line with a brown liner like Maybelline Master Drama Liner in Bold Brown, drawing the line up and out at the outer corners. Line your lower lash line as well, stopping about three quarters of the way in. Smudge this line using the darkest shade in the eyeshadow palette.
Next, Take a cream colored liner, like Nyx Wonder Pencil in Light, and line your waterline. Then, using the same pencil, apply it to the inner corners of your eyes and blend with a fingertip. To further brighten the inner corners of your eyes apply the lightest shade from the eyeshadow palette overtop (to take this a step further, you can use a lighter, shimmer shade like Mac Shroom, or the lightest shades from the Urban Decay Naked palettes). To complete the look apply several coats of black, volumizing Mascara like Maybelline the Falsies, to top and bottom lashes.
And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed these quick tips – let me know what you would like to see next!
