I am usually a fall-winter person but with all of the snow we’ve had, I am so ready for spring.   According to the forecast for this week DC will get into the 60’s and I welcome this warmth with open arms [arms that will be covered in a light, spring jacket rather than my polar conditions puffy coat]. The promise of higher temps has also gotten me excited about spring makeup – ligher bases, golden eyes and pink glossed lips.

For today’s post I want to share with you a really easy makeup look using affordable products that are all very high quality.

Face: I applied my L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream with fingertips, and then concealed underneath my eyes with my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

Eyes: I began by washing Madison Street Beauty Eyeshadow in Nude Shimmer*, a shimmering nude-gold all over my lids, blending the pigment into the crease. To add a bit of definition I smudged Madison Street Beauty Eyeshadow in Dulce de Leche*, a golden bronze-brown, on my upper and lower lash lines. These gorgeous shimmer shadows are really easy to apply, and the product won’t fall down onto the under eye area or cheeks when you’re applying, or throughout the day. They also stay put with or without primer all day long. [these beauties are currently on sale for $2 - you can't beat that price!] To further define the lash line I tight-lined my eyes with my Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir. To complete the eye look I applied two coats of Maybelline The Falsies Mascara to my lashes, top and bottom.

Cheeks: For pretty pink cheeks I applied Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in Just-Pinched Pink straight from the tube onto the apples of my cheeks, and then blended out with a fingertip.

Lips: Glossy lips are in for spring so I went with one of my favorite affordable lip products, Nyx Butter Gloss in Peaches And Cream. Peaches And Cream is a brighter pink that can be sheered out by blending the color into the lips with a finger, or built up for a bolder lip look. The Butter Glosses feel so smooth and creamy on the lips, and once the gloss wears off they leave a light stain of color.
